We mostly talk about our internet’s download speed, rather than its upload speed. The reason is that most of the activities that we carry out utilize the download speed. However, many people suffer from the problem of slow upload speeds, and they only realize it when they have to upload certain files or images on the web. Many providers such as Spectrum internet ensure the right download and upload speeds; if you still face the issue – you might want to troubleshoot the problems on your part.

Using Multiple Devices Simultaneously

Make sure you are not using too many devices simultaneously, as it consumes bandwidth and makes the connection very slow. Moreover, the background applications of a device also severely affect the upload speeds.

Obstruction in Wi-Fi Signals

Wi-Fi signals are the way we usually get our internet from. Ethernet cables are very rare – and are only useful for personal computers or laptops. However, for other devices such as mobiles and tablets, we need Wi-Fi signals. Sometimes, the signals face hindrance in transmission; hence the user suffers from slow upload speed.

An Older or Outdated Device

Using an old, worn-out device or the one that does not support the latest version of firmware gives us relatively lower internet speeds. The reason is that it does not support the increased bandwidths and the upload speeds due to the older technology compatible for slower speeds only. Hence, it is important that you change your device timely.

Wrong Internet Plan

As we all know, before getting a connection, we mostly consider the download speed of a connection. We mostly tend to overlook the upload speed – that too is important. Upload speed is never equal to the download speed and is somewhat lower. Therefore, before choosing a package, the user must bear in mind that the tests the upload speed of the internet connection.

Unnecessary Data on the Computer

If you are suffering from slow upload speed on only one computer – the problem might be with your computer or device. What you have to do is clear off your device of any unnecessary data and make segments in your system. Try running your computer in safe mode and check if the slow upload speed problem still persists.

Bottom line

Despite following all the above procedures, if you still face the problem of slow upload speed, it is advisable that you contact a technical person. Although we do not need upload speeds for downloading files or browsing over the internet, we need them in certain operations that we usually carry out on the internet. Thus, it is important to take care of every aspect of your internet connection.
